March 17 – St. Patrick’s Day Parade, 8-12, Ventura. Green Corvairs highlight family fun day, with all colors welcome. No fees. Picnic follows. Wonderful opportunity to get the dust off your Vair for the upcoming touring season. Meet and greet with fellow Corvair lovers and of course food and beverage cannot be far behind. Calendar of Club Events for 2012

In order to expedite the continued success of Central Coast Corsa it behooves me to put together an outline of events, meetings and tech sessions for 2012. Here goes.

Saturday, January 21. CCC outing to Mike Thomas’ Corvair Ranch. Cancelled event.

Thursday, February 9. CCC 6PM business meeting at O’Brien homestead inAtascaderoto discuss upcoming VairFest, club dues, club officers, etc. Potluck et al.

Saturday, March 31. CCC outing to Galvan’s Classic Car and Truck Show inFresno, CA. Car show from 9AM to 7PM with awards at 3:30PM. We can caravan. Complete event information here.

Saturday, April 14. CCC tech session to work on 1 or more cars at the Pennell lift. 9AM start time. Bring lunch item to share.

Thursday, May 10. CCC business meeting at Hemwall hacienda 6 PM start. Potluck, etc.

Thursday, May 31. CCC business meeting at Pennell home to firm up VairFest details. 6PM with potluck, etc.

Saturday, June 9. CCC tech session 9 AM at a place to be determined. Vairfest prep in the works as well.

Saturday, July 28. CCC outing 9AM start to Arroyo Grande Car Show. Not to be missed! Bring your shiny and running Corvair!

Friday, August 17. CCC outing to Atascadero Hot August Nights Cruise Night. 6PM cruise start. BBQ prior at the O’Brien Hacienda.

Thursday, September 13. CCC business meeting 6PM at a place to be determined.

Saturday, October 13. CCC tech session 9AM at a location to be determined.

Friday, Saturday, Sunday, October 26, 27, 28. Great Western Fan Belt Toss & Swap Meet.

Saturday, November 4. CCC outing to Nojoqui Falls Fun Run, near Buelton.Central Coast StreetRods sponsored event. 40th year running. See Link above.

Saturday, December 8. CCC Christmas Dinner, 6PM at a place to be determined.

Thursday, January 10, 2013. CCC business meeting, 6PM. Vairfest, club schedule, club officers, club dues, etc. To be determined.

January 21, 2012. CCC outing and tech session at Mike Thomas’ Corvair Ranch in beautiful Atascadero, CA. Meet at 10AM at Mike’s house in A-Town for a caravan ride to the site. If it is required to have several “ran when parked” cars in your driveway in Atascadero come to this event at an abandoned chicken farm to peruse through the gems Mike has squirreled away. Bring cash or check as there is sure to be some part you must have and Mike might be willing to sell. Lunch will be taken at Colby Jack’s new restaurant at the Carlton Hotel in Atascadero after we crawl around the ranch. For more info call Bob O at 460-9651 or Mike at 549-8050. This is our first event of the New Year. We will talk about the upcoming VairFest in Arroyo Grande, June 23, 2012 and set the rest of our calendar for upcoming events!

VairFest 2012. CCC’s VairFest has tentatively been scheduled for June 23, 2012 at Heritage Park in Arroyo Grande, CA. Once again we will host what is to become an annual event for the club. Car show, BBQ, Awards and tech sessions will be on the slate. Discuss………
