Old Business:

The newsletter committee (Corey, Hemwall, O’Brien, Thomas) has not yet met. Jim will follow-up.

New Business:

Bob Galli shared “How to Keep Your Corvair Alive” by Richard Finch. The first handwritten print was 1976 followed by a professional update in 1998. He also brought a book of newsletters from January 1974 through June 1976. It was interesting to note that Chuck Smith was the editor during this time. This book will enter the archives stored at the Chess home.

Jim reminded us that it has been several months since we’ve had an outing. Several ideas were mentioned with a date of Sunday, March 21st set to see the wild flowers. Possibilities are Highway 58 to Shell Creek Road with lunch at Parkfield Café or Jack Ranch Café. The route & lunch destination are to be determined at the March meeting. Other further outing suggestions should be e-mailed to Jim.

Zac suggested that a list of specialty tools owned by members be printed for the possibility of exchange for use within our club. Please prepare your list of specialty tools & e-mailed to Jim Pennell to enable him to prepare a list for the next meeting. Zac also suggested that once we know what club members own we may want to consider purchase of ‘club’ owned tools for exchange amongst members.

Not previously stated in the minutes: ‘Bob O’Brien has agreed to be our club’s Corsa Representative’.

Being the contact he will receive correspondence from Corsa National and the other chapters.

Jim has not yet held a Tech Session at his home since no one has called him with interest. Discussion perused of possibly replacing a gas tank in Chuck’s Corvair in Santa Maria. No date set.

Jim Pennell recently learned that Mike Squires of Iowa has many NOS Parts available. New member

Chuck Smith states that he has early NOS Parts including many emblems & gaskets.

The meeting was adjourned at 8:45 pm. The raffle raised $33 of which $5 went into the attendance pot

that is now $30 since Bob O’Brien was not in attendance.

Next meeting:

March 6th 6:00 PM, dinner potluck, location to be determined

Respectfully submitted, Jackie Chess, Secretary/Treasurer
